SOUNDTRACK REVIEW:

The soundtrack album to the 3D movie opens with sounds of a cheering crowd, followed by a soothing live performance of a song introduction. Then dramatic thumping beats and rhythms are heard to up the excitement level of the cheering crowd. Cue more screams and shrills. We then hear three voices singing “That’s Just The Way We Roll” with high energy. These three voices belong to Kevin, Nick and Joe – The Jonas Brothers. And these are the boys who would be bringing you 51 minutes of non stop teeny boppy music.

Hailing from Wyckoff, New Jersey, the trio has released three albums so far: It's About Time (2006), Jonas Brothers (2007), and A Little Bit Longer (2008). The group was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 51st Grammy Awards and won the award for Breakthrough Artist at the American Music Awards. Not bad for these boys, we’d say.

If you are a fan of the Jonas Brothers, then this album is a must own. The live recording of the Burning Up Tour (which tickets were sold out in less than, gasp, two minutes!) in July last year includes 14 songs which would be more than familiar to fans. Given the band’s popularity, it is no wonder the album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 when it was released in February this year. Highlights of this disc includes the Shania Twain cover “I’m Gonna Getcha Good”, as well as duets with Taylor Swift (“Shoud’ve Said No”) and Demi Lovato (“This Is Me”), whom the brothers starred with in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock”.

Listeners who are above the age of 18 may not connect with this album, considering that all the songs on this album are targeted at fans (probably girls) who are below 18. That explains the continuous screaming which suspiciously sound like hordes of young girls in the background too.

If you are in the mood for some blast out loud teeny boppy pop in the comfort of your room, then get this album to experience the phenomenon that’s The Jonas Brothers.
