It's madness, mischief and mayhem when rich executive Drew Latham (Ben Affleck) decides to rent himself a family for the holidays. Tired of spending Christmas alone, Drew makes the Valcos (James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara and Christina Applegate) an offer they should have refused. Now their annoying guest and his outrageous demands are turning their Noel into a nightmare in this hilarious slapstick comedy that puts the fun in family dysfunction.

MOVIE REVIEW

Why is there a need to live through a joyous festive occasion like Christmas? Well, almost all of us are expected to spend this moment with your loved ones. The likely choice of place is nowhere but at home. But if one has none of these both, it is going to be tough to waltz through this Xmas holidays. His girlfriend ditched our main lead here, Drew Latham aka Ben Affleck, just when Christmas is approaching. After exhausting all resources but still unable to secure himself for some companionship, he returned to his childhood house, which was now owned by the Valcos. He met the Valcos and unconsciously led them, including himself through a bizarre, learning journey.

After his box-office success “Daredevil”, Ben Affleck did not lose his charm for his non-superhero role by being a rich executive in this hilarious comedy. The Valcos (James Gandolfini, Catherine O’Hara, Christina Applegate) forms a typical American family. Each of them has unknowingly grown apart from one another over the years. Drew, out of initial good intention, helped the family members to realize their fondest memory. But surprises of his actions followed. That brought out gales of laughter.

Perhaps 50s or so couple with grown-up children would find themselves in the characters played by James and Catherine.

A simple, funny slapstick Christmas comedy. Play this movie, head for the cozy couch and enjoy watching it if you are going to spend your homely moment during the coming, nonetheless, Christmas period. Cheers.
