THE ASSASSIN wins big at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards

Hou Hsiao Hsien's THE ASSASSIN  wins big at the just concluded 52nd Golden Horse Awards including Best Director and Best Feature Film. Expectedly, A-listers liked Aaron Kwok and Shu Qi are not one of the happy winners. 

The rest of the winners include the following:

Best Leading Actor: Feng Xiaogang (Mr Six)

Best Leading Actress: Karena Lam (Zinnia Flower)

Best Supporting Actor: Michael Ning (Port of Call)

Best Supporting Actress: Lu Xue-feng (Thanatos, Drunk)

Best Original Screenplay: Jia Zhang-ke (Mountains May Depart)

Best Cinematography: Mark Lee Ping-bing (The Assassin)

Best Visual Effects: Wook Kim (The Taking of Tiger Mountain 3D)

Best Animation Feature: McDull: Me & My Mum

Best Art Direction: William Chang, Alfred Yau (Office)

Best Makeup/Costume Design: Hwarng Wern-ying (The Assassin)

Best Action Choreography: Xu Haofeng (The Master)

Best Film Editing: Chang Tso-chi (Thanatos, Drunk)

Best Original Film Music: Lin Shangde, Tseng Yun-fang (Thanatos, Drunk)

Best Original Film Song: Aka Pisawad (Wawa No Cidal)

Best Sound Effects: Tu Duu-chih, Chu Shih-yi, Wu Shu-yao (The Assassin)

THE ASSASSIN going strong in Singapore

It is a time for celebration as THE ASSASSIN reach the S$71,000 mark in local box office with 9 print counts, 4 days since its opening on the 10th September. Directed by award winning director Hou Hsiao Hsien and starring Shu Qi & Chang Chen, THE ASSASSIN is also a box office hit both in China & Taiwan since its opening in August.

THE ASSASSIN is now showing at Shaw, Cathay, GV, Eng Wah & The Projector.
