WONDER WOMAN OVERPOWERS THE COMPETITION AT THE GLOBAL AND SINGAPORE BOX OFFICE

The global icon’s first-ever standalone film is a box office wonder, earning a 5-day weekend of S$2,933,716 at the Singapore box office.

One of the best-reviewed and most-anticipated Super Hero movies of all time, director Patty Jenkins’s epic action adventure Wonder Woman soared to the top of the box office on its opening 5-day weekend, earning S$$2,933,716 in Singapore from 31 May- 4 June, and still climbing. The Warner Bros. Pictures release, which stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as her ally Steve Trevor, marks the global icon’s first-ever solo feature film and the first female-led big screen adventure of the modern superhero era. The announcement was made by Mr Ng Peng Hui, Managing Director of Warner Bros. (S) Pte Ltd.

“Wonder Woman” arrived in cinemas on a wave of enthusiastic reviews and raving reactions, and is now the biggest female superhero movie opening of all time.

Mr Ng said, “Patty Jenkins and her talented cast and crew have delivered the Wonder Woman adventure that new and longtime fans have been waiting for, and we’re glad to see the film connect in such a big way with moviegoers across [territory]. With great reviews and incredible word of mouth, ‘Wonder Woman’ is the perfect movie to bring us into summer.”
