PATRICK TSE (谢贤) (1937 - 2026)

Legendary Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse has died at the age of 89. His passing was announced by his son, actor-singer Nicholas Tse, and daughter Jennifer Tse.

Affectionately known as “Sei Gor” (Fourth Brother), Tse rose to stardom in the 1950s and 1960s under Kong Ngee Motion Picture Production Company. Over the following decades, he cemented his status as a screen icon with his trademark charisma, confidence, and versatility, not only starring in numerous films but also directing, writing, and producing many of them.

Tse also found success on the small screen, appearing in TV dramas produced by TVB and ATV. Among his most memorable performances were The Shell Game (1980) and The Legend of the Condor Heroes (1983).

His personal life often made headlines, particularly his high-profile marriages to Taiwanese actress Chen Chen (1974–1978) and Hong Kong actress Deborah Lee (1979–1995).

In 2022, Tse won the Best Actor award at the Hong Kong Film Awards for his performance in Time, becoming the oldest recipient of the honour.
