mm2 ANNOUNCES SLATE OF NEW MOVIE PRODUCTIONS AT HONG KONG FILMART

mm2 Entertainment Pte. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Exchange-listed mm2 Asia Ltd. (“mm2 Asia”) announced three new movie productions today at Hong Kong Filmart 2016.

TAKE 2 (Chinese title to be confirmed)

Since "One More Chance"《三个好人》in 2005, there has not been a prison or ex-offender themed movie. With the change in the social landscape, and more accepting and open attitudes towards ex-offenders, it is the right time for a re-imagining for this genre. Presented in a dramatic, bittersweet and heartwarming way, it is hoped that this movie will raise awareness and empathy for ex-offenders, and show that they can have a “Take 2” at life as well. The movie revolves around 4 ex-offenders who open an eatery to start a new life and the challenges they face.

‘TAKE 2’ is executive produced by Jack Neo and directed by Ivan Ho (co-script writer of ‘Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen’ and ‘Long Long Time Ago’), and jointly produced by mm2 Entertainment and J Team Productions with a budget of S$1.3 million.

IBU 《鬼母》

Pontianak, a well known horror icon in Singapore and Malaysia, will be brought back to life in ‘IBU’ this year. For the first time in the production of Singapore movies, ‘IBU’ will be filmed simultaneously in 2 language versions, Mandarin and Malay. The movie tells the story of an eight year-old girl who befriends a pontianak and begins an unlikely relationship with her.

‘IBU 《鬼母》’is directed by award-winning director M. Rihan Halim (‘Yazid Wears Diapers’ & ‘Banting’), and jointly produced by mm2 Entertainment and Papahan Films with a budget of S$1.5 million for two versions.

GHOST NET 《鬼网》

GHOST NET 《鬼网》, an omnibus of three horror internet stories, is mm2’s next Hong Kong movie production after ‘Vampire Cleanup Department 《救殭清道夫》’. The movie centres on horror stories related to the internet and is directed by Wong Kwok Fai, Wong Kwok Keung; both accomplished directors with Television Broadcast Limited (TVB), and Patrick Yau, and produced by mm2 Entertainment with a budget of HK$10 million.
