Synopsis
:
The humdrum lives of four women are transformed
by the arrival of Italian femme fatale, Sophia Rosselini (Kelly
Brook) and her School for Seduction. For Clare (Dervla Kirwan),
Irene (Margi Clarke) and sisters Kelly (Emily Woof) and Donna
(Jessica Johnson), the School for Seduction is a much needed
break from reality, promising how to be sexy, seductive and
in control.
Initially the course is simply great fun
and the women are unleashed on their
unsuspecting partners with comic, sometimes uncomfortable
but often hilarious results. However, all appears to be shattered
with the arrival of Sophia's estranged husband and a shocking
revelation.

Review:
In
a nutshell, School for seduction is about an Italian temptress,
Sophia, arriving at a school in Newcastle to teach a group
of women about the art of romance.
And among the students that enrolled are, single mum Kelly
(who has to work night and day to support daughter), sister
Donna (who works alongside her at the local superstore); Irene
(another colleague, battering fish) and white collar Clare
who may be a step up the social ladder but she's trapped in
a loveless marriage to Craig, a car fanatic who thinks more
of his Ferrari than his wife. Here life lessons will be learned
by everyone, including the teacher.
Now this is the movie that is supposed to make Kelly Brook
a real movie star. But then why is she surrounded in it by
so much TV actors? Considering this is her first starring
role, Kelly Brook is surprisingly convincing as an Italian
beauty (A little hard to not miss the mark as she IS a model
after all).
Overall,
This Brit-chick-flick does have all the formula needed for
a warm-hearted drama comedy at the expenses of bumbling men
and one can’t help but feel some sort of a “girl
power” vibe throughout the whole movie. What disappoints
me is that it looks so much like a TV weekday showcase then
a movie premiere.
It’s
quite rare to actually see a movie pro-woman but personally,
I’m not against it or anything but I just felt that
it could do with a little bit less cheese.
