Synopsis :

Su-Jin, a promising young clothing designer, has always been forgetful. One day, she buys a cola at a convenience store, but accidentally leaves it there. When she returns to get it, she finds a shabby-looking man walking out of the store with the same kind of soda, and assumes that he has swiped her forgotten drink.
When Su-Jin needs a carpenter to work on her company’s showroom, her father sends over one of the employees from his construction company. To her great surprise, it is Chul-soo, the same man from the convenience store. A romance develops between the two, but because Su-jin and Chul-soo have both been hurt in the past, it develops very slowly. Su-jin is recovering from a failed romance with a married man. Chul-soo was abandoned as a child, and has lived his life alienated and alone ever since. Su-jin is the first to fall in love, and asks Chul-soo to get married. At first, he remains sceptical and resists, having lived too long without love in his life, but eventually he gives in to his feelings.
Su-jin’s forgetfulness begins to grow worse. Su-jin goes to the hospital, where she learns that she has a rare form of early-onset dementia. Even though she is just 27, her memories have begun wasting away. As her memory deteriorates, Su-jin begins to lose her connection to Chul-soo and her loved ones…

Movie Review:

Two of the brightest young stars in Korea, the beautiful Son Yae Jin (The Classic) shines as the tragically afflicted Su-Jin and the charming Jung Woo Sung (Musa – The Warrior) brings photogenic cool to the role of the supportive and loving Chol-su, share A Moment To Remember!

They first set sight on each other when she was involved in a failed relationship with a married man, and Chol-su works for her father as a carpenter who aims to be an artitect.

It was almost love at first sight, as Chol-su couldn’t get Su-Jin out of his mind and likewise for Su-jin. Their love was passionate and soon they get married. Their marriage is as close to perfect as it can be…you could say their union was made in heaven and their love is like a fairy tale…fall in love and live happily everafter…

However, is heaven really that kind? Su-jin got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She was devastated and tried to leave Chol-su when she got to know she was ill…however Chol-su do not want to give up on their love. In this tragic struggle, their love was greatly threatened and strengthened. How long will their love for each other last? As Su-Jin’s memories begin to leave her, the disease they face may turn out to be too much for even a love as strong as theirs…

When I went to preview this movie, it reminds me of A Walk To Remember…both stories told of love between a man and a woman. However this story tells of a different story…a sad tale…how terrible to get such disease! Never been aware that such a young woman would diagnose with such disease…seems to lose her memory of everything, including her love, Chol-su. It is terrible and devastating for Chol-su as Su-Jin is his pillar of support.

To lose a loved one in the helpless fight against terminated diseases is a terrible pain to bear. You can’t do anything to lessen the pain for the sick ones but are only able to stand by their sides and give them your support. One can’t feel the pain of the sickly.

Despite the tragedy, there are some funny scenes between Sung and Jung. I love the scene when they 1st saw each other and how Song woos Sung. This movie warms my heart and I hope it does the same for those who want to watch it.

I would recommend this movie for those who are in love as well as for singles for this story not only tell a romantic tale between lovers but also brings across the message to cherish our loved ones when they are still alive.
