BATS TAKE OVER THE CITY AS “BATMAN BEGINS” COMES TO TOWN

OUTDOOR BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN BRINGS BATS TO SINGAPORE

Swarms of bats descended upon the skyline of Singapore today, darkening the skies over Esplanade- Theatres on the Bay and sending astonished glances upward. Fortunately, the phenomenon is not an actual plague, but instead, is a striking visual image captured on the outdoor advertising for Warner Bros. Pictures’ highly anticipated “Batman Begins,” set to open 16th June.

On billboards all over the city, bats are circling the skyline, making this Warner Bros. Pictures International’s first film ever to have a locally individualized outdoor advertising campaign. This breathtaking 10 m by 4 m billboard structure feature stands at Shaw House in the heart of Orchard Road from 25 May till 19th June. The custom billboards will appear in more than 35 cities around the world, outside of North America.

The billboards coordinate with other advertising art for the movie, including in-theater materials and images from “Batman Begins” that will appear on windows, bus shelters, print ads, shopping malls and other public places. The first images will begin appearing in the third week of May.

“Batman Begins” explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents’ murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.
