UPDATE: "23:59" tops the weekend box office!

UPDATE 2! "23:59", the local horror thriller that tells the story of a mysterious murder that happened in 1983 in the army camp on Pulau Tekong, topped the local box office chart over the long weekend! "23:59" collected an encouraging SGD $742,000 at the box office from 4th to 7th November with 24 screens, making it the number one movie on the weekend box office chart!

This is the best opening weekend result for a local movie since HOMECOMING's SGD $753,000 opening during Chinese New Year earlier this year! Including its sneak preview results, "23:59" grossed a total of SGD $870,000 as of 7th November. The movie will definitely surpass the SGD $1 million mark and the producers are hopeful that "23:59" will hit the SGD $1.5 million box office!

"23:59", a local horror thriller co-produced for the first time by Gorylah Pictures and Clover Films, continues to score at the local box office!

"23:59" collected SGD $76,000 at the box office yesterday when it opened theatrically in Singapore with 23 screens. With that, "23:59" is the number one movie in the Singapore box office chart!

To date, "23:59" has grossed a total of SGD $200,000, including the sneak previews from 28 to 31 October. The producers are confident that the movie will surpass the SGD $1 million mark when the film ends its run. "23:59" will also release theatrically in Malaysia on 22 December.

“23:59”, a local horror thriller co-produced for the first time by Gorylah Pictures and Clover Films, scored at the box office with its sneak preview sessions over the weekend. The movie collected an encouraging SGD $110,000 from 28 to 30 October and topped the box office chart among the movies that were sneaking! It opens theatrically on 3 November islandwide.

“23:59”, with a production budget of $700,000, also held two “23:59 Super Date Night” sessions with GV Movie Club on 28 October. The responses were overwhelming! Several audiences who attended the screenings in their Singapore Armed Forces uniforms were given free popcorn.

Directed by Gilbert Chan, who spent the past ten years conceptualising and working on “23:59”, the movie tells the story of a mysterious murder that happened in 1983 in the army camp on Pulau Tekong. Besides the well-known local actor Mark Lee, “23:59” also stars several up and coming young actors from Singapore and Malaysia namely Henley Hii, Tedd Chan, Lawrence Koh, Josh Lai and Tommy Kuan.
