The third film of The Monkey King fantasy series is once again directed by Cheang Pou-Soi, who has been nominated for several awards in the past, including the Hong Kong Film Awards, and Chinese Film Media Awards.
The Monkey King 3 《西游记3：女儿国》 also promises a star-studded cast that includes Aaron Kwok, Feng Shao Feng, Zanilia Zhao, Lin Chi Ling and Kingdom Yuen.
On 17 April, after the film wrapped up, the cast and crew attended the Beijing International Film Festival. Aaron Kwok and 15 other cast and crew members graced the opening red carpet event. The filming was tedious, lasting four to five months, however, Aaron Kwok revealed that it had been a happy experience overall.
THE MONKEY KING 2 BOX OFFICE REACHES S$1 MILLION
Within a week of its release, The Monkey King 2 box office has reached S$1 million in Singapore. The Monkey King 2, which opened on 5 February after 6pm, grossed S$836,000 over the Chinese New Year long weekend (5/2–9/2).
The Monkey King 2 also soared in China, to date with a box office collection of 510 million RMB.

Following "From Vegas to Macau III", Shaw Theatres will release The Monkey King 2 this coming Lunar New Year.
In ‘The Monkey King 2’, the quartet is forced to delay their journey on the quest for the sutra when the White Boned Demon (Baigujing) constantly attempts to prise Tang Sanzang for his meat.
Directed by Soi Cheang, who also directed the 2014 box office hit ‘The Monkey King’, the sequel stars Aaron Kwok (Monkey King), Gong Li (White Boned Demon), William Feng (Tang Priest), Xiao Shen Yang (Zhu BaJie), Him Law (Sha Wujing), Kelly Chen (Guanyin) and Kris Phillips (The King of Western Heaven).
