Hong Kong actor Stanley Fung (冯淬帆), best known as one of the comedic mainstays of the popular Lucky Stars film series, has passed away at the age of 81.
Born in 1944, Fung entered the entertainment industry in the late 1960s. While he showcased versatility in drama and action films, it was comedy that brought him lasting fame. His on-screen chemistry with Sammo Hung, Eric Tsang, Richard Ng and Charlie Chin turned the Lucky Stars franchise into one of the most beloved film series of the 1980s.
Throughout his decades-long career, Fung also directed and produced several movies, contributing significantly to Hong Kong’s golden era of cinema. In later years, he remained active with supporting roles in film and television, charming audiences with his signature wit and warmth.
Stanley Fung leaves behind a legacy of laughter and a body of work that continues to resonate with fans across generations. His presence in Hong Kong entertainment will be deeply missed especially his “香蕉你个芭乐”.
