Singapore star Rebecca Lim joining faith-based sports drama, 100 YARDS

Singapore-based film financing outfits Silver Media Group and Aurora Media Holdings have attached Mediacorp artiste Rebecca Lim, one of Singapore’s most popular actresses to its upcoming feature film, 100 YARDS. A co-production between the Singapore, US, and the Philippines, 100 YARDS is the first Asian and Western collaboration that aims to tap on a burgeoning market for faith-based films. The project will be shot on location in the United States and in the Philippines with star attachments from both North America and Asia.

100 YARDS is a sports drama shot in the Philippines and the United States. It follows a famous but flawed college athlete who turns down the NFL to search for his missing mother in the Philippines, only to find out he has an illness that takes him on an unexpected journey where he meets Rebecca’s character Brittany, a kind nurse who shows him grace and compassion when he needs it the most. It is written and directed by LA-based Push to Start Production’s Ross Campbell and co- directed by award-winning Dale Fabrigar, and will be produced by Chan Gin Kai, Justin Deimen and Sherman Ng.

"When I was in the school hockey team, my coach would always make an effort for us to watch faith-building sports movies during our competition period to psyche us up for the season. We were always so inspired and motivated by them. And now, to be able to be a part of this film that aims to portray and instill strength, courage, and belief is such a huge blessing. The script has touched me and I can't wait to start production and work with these wonderful people. I believe this film will be a blessing to others as much as I've been blessed by such films in the past,” says Rebecca of her participation in 100 YARDS.

“We are very blessed to have Rebecca join us on this global journey to portray values of courage, faith and family in this feature film. We look forward to a successful collaboration with Rebecca and pray that audience around the world will be entertained and impacted at the same time” notes Sherman Ng, one of the film’s executive producers and the Principal of SN Global Holdings.

The film’s principal photography will commence in Cebu in June 2016 and follow into Los Angeles in July 2016. Advent Media Group in Singapore and Project Kaleidoscope in Philippines will oversee production aspects of the project with Silver Media Group handling world sales.

“There’s a bustling urge for inspirational content and the faith-based market in the United States and the idea of supplying this demand through a cross-cultural context is immensely compelling to us as investors and filmmakers”, says Justin Deimen, Group Managing Partner at Aurora Media Capital, a subsidiary of Aurora Media Holdings. “With strong partners onboard who understand the importance of showcasing positive sides of humanity through media, we foresee a long-term relationship in creating meaningful and uplifting content with them.
