LEONARD NIMOY (1931 - 2015)

Leonard Nimony better known as Spock in the classic cult sci-fi series Star Trek, has died at the age of 83 of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Nimoy had a long career as both an actor (the Mission: Impossible TV series) and director. However he was best known for his portrayal of the half-human, half-Vulcan character in both the TV franchise and series of Star Trek.

Besides being an accomplished stage actor; a published writer and poet; and a noted photographer. He also dabbled in singing and songwriting. Not forgetting he directed several movies including Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and yes the ultra-successful, 3 Men and a Baby. To newer audiences, he had cameo appearances in the reboot, Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness and a voice role as Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon

He of course lived up to his longtime catchphrase: Live long and prosper.
