If there was ever skepticism that Disney would be able to turn one of their theme park rides into a blockbuster moviegoing franchise, that was probably put to rest with the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series.
While that may have run its course with the fifth and lowest grossing entry in the United States, Disney is looking to repeat that same magic with their 'Jungle Cruise' ride, which judging by the first trailer, looks to be yet another fun family-friendly adventure ride.
Directed by Jaume Collett-Serra, Dwayne Johnson stars as a boat captain who guides Emily Blunt and her brother (Jack Whitehall) on a trip to find a tree said to have healing powers. Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, and Edgar Ramirez also star.
Disney opens the movie in cinemas next summer:
