Clover Films celebrates their 4th year!

Local movie distribution and production company, Clover Films, celebrates its 4th year in the movie industry on 13 December. Coinciding with its 4th anniversary, Clover Films is releasing 3 Asian blockbuster films during this festive period, Firestorm starring Andy Lau and Lam Ka Tung, Police Story 2013, starring Jackie Chan and As The Light Goes Out, starring Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue and Simon Yam.

Since its establishment, Clover Films has co-produced and/or co-invested in 13 local movies and distributed more than 100 Asian movies in Singapore. This year, Clover Films continued its active participation in the local movie scene, co-producing 2 movies with production partners, Meeting The Giant, a China-Singapore co-production directed by Tay Ping Hui, and Filial Party, a comedy invested by PTO Movies, starring an ensemble cast of Christopher Lee, Mark Lee, Ann Kok and Irene Ang. Clover Films is also an investor for director Jack Neo’s highly anticipated double bill The Lion Men I & II, both scheduled to hit cinemas in early 2014.

In the past year, notable milestones for Clover Films include achieving an all-time Asian movie box office record of S$7.8 million for Jack Neo’s Ah Boys To Men 2, a movie that the company invested, distributed and marketed in Singapore. It also collected an amazing S$5 million box office for Jackie Chan’s CZ12, breaking the record for Chinese movies (excluding local titles) in Singapore held previously by Donnie Yen’s Ip Man 2.

Moving forward, Clover Films' movie releases in the pipeline for 2014 include Chinese New Year releases Huat Ah! Huat Ah! Huat! starring A-Niu & Joyce Cheng and Golden Chicken S, the next instalment to award-winning movie, Golden Chicken, starring and produced by Sandra Ng. The company has also recently acquired action comedy Horseplay, starring an ensemble cast of Tony Leung Ka-fai, Ekin Cheng ,Kelly Chen & Eric Tsang, 3AM Part 2, the thematic sequel to the successful Thai horror and the highly anticipated action blockbuster Kung Fu Killer starring Donnie Yen from Emperor Motion Pictures.
