Oscar winning cinematography Andrew Lesnie has died of a heart attack on monday. Throughout his 40 year career, the Australia-born filmmaker is known for his creative camera work and amicable nature.
Lesnie developed a close relationship with Peter Jackson after they collaborated on the hugely successful Lord of the Rings trilogy and subsequently worked together on King Kong and The Lovely Bones. Most recently, they completed The Hobbit trilogy.
His final work happened to be Russell Crowe's directorial debut, The Water Diviner which is opening 7 May 2015.
