That incident puts her entire career on hold…
MOVIE REVIEW:
This is an awesome, adrenaline-packed drama that is set at
a general hospital in Seoul. It is like a mini Korean version
of the popular American series, “Grey’s Anatomy”.
But of course, “Surgeon Bong Dal Hee” has its
fair share of deserving credits for the equally superb main
and supporting cast to deliver and unfold the story.
This “Surgeon Bong Dal Hee” medical drama series,
not only just illustrate the real-life, daily challenges and
“beating the clock against the death knell” emergencies
faced by the medical team in the hospital. But it also describes
the personal relationships of the doctors and the patient-doctor
emotional attachment.
A pity the medical terms explanation in the subtitles are
in Korean words. Otherwise, non-Korean viewers could have
been able to pick up and understand more of the meanings behind
the sophisticated, medical terms.
Bong Dal Hee (Lee Yo Won), despite her own heart ailment,
thrives hard in her determination to be a surgeon and has
proven herself to be an enthusiastic, quick learner. Nevertheless,
she suffers a set-back by some unexpected circumstances.
Will she ever to pull herself up and stand on her feet again?
And who is her final choice between Lee Gun-wook (Kim Min
Joon, Lovers in Prague and Someday)
and Ahn Joong-geun (Lee Bum Soo)?
The lead actress, Lee Yo Won, resembles Esther Kwan, a Hong
Kong ex-actress from TBV. Her mop of curly hair can be quite
an eye-sore in her very bad-hair days.
Here again, we see the on-screen pair of Kim Min Joon and
Oh Yoon Ah as a divorced couple who is still trying to come
terms with the indifferences. Previously, we saw them in another
excellent Korean drama series “Someday”.
However, this time round, viewers get to see another aspect
of Oh Yoon Ah, who is then a modern, single career woman in
“Someday” but now portray a medical professional
role of a pediatrician.
Let’s embark on this medical, heartwarming journey with
“Surgeon Bong Dal Hee”.
